Hairstylist Instructor Training

You will work with our current staff to learn how to teach cosmetology as well as the methodology of the philosophy of education. Using Milady Master Educator textbook, you will discover:

  • Teaching Skills
  • Using Educational Judgement
  • Creating Lesson Plans
  • Managing A Classroom

Presented in a user-friendly style, Milady Master Educator provides valuable insight into great teaching techniques for a wide variety of programs. By offering you the ability to see how seasoned instructors have succeeded, you can develop your career path. You will also meet with executive members and the board of directors who have Masters’ degrees in teaching, to learn what they are looking for in academy instructors.

State Requirements

Our 300-hour program will help you get approved by the state of Tennessee to become a fully-licensed cosmetology instructor. This will help increase your hair stylist salary and give you the tools to teach professional hair cutting classes. Franklin Academy will help you submit your hours of classroom study and on-site training to the state so that you can receive your teaching license for cosmetology.

  • Day-to-Day:
    • Work with current instructors
    • Learn through teaching and methodologies the philosophy of education
    • Learn to assess students and create lesson plans with the provided textbook
    • Get mentored by an instructor, meet with executive board directors and members with a Master’s Degree in teaching
  • Instructor Duties:
    • Using classroom management skills
    • Implementing higher levels of learning
    • Giving real-time assessment and proper feedback
    • Submit hours to the state to work in a cosmetology school or workshop
